[Changwon=Newsis] Reporter Hong Jung-myung = On the 18th, Gyeongnam
Techno Park (CEO Noh Chung-sik) reported that six aviation-related SMEs from
the province took part in the '2022 Aerospace and Defense Supplier Summit (2022
ADSS)' in Seattle, USA from the 11th to 13th of this month (local time) and
secured export consultation results totaling $50.13 million.
Over 500 companies from 21 countries took part
in the 2022 ADSS event. Six companies from the province had a total of 34
meetings with overseas buyers, including Boeing from the U.S. and Embraer from
Brazil, worth a total of $50.13 million in exports.
In the event, which was held both online and
offline due to the COVID-19 pandemic, three companies, YoungPoong Electronics,
Kencoa Aerospace, and Hize Aero, participated in Seattle, and three companies,
SewooAir, CNL, and Korea Non-Ferrous Metals, participated online.
Gyeongnam TP partnered with KOTRA's Silicon
Valley Trade Center to assist local businesses in their online bidding efforts
due to inability to send staff to Seattle.
Consul General SeoEun-ji from the Consulate
General of the Republic of Korea in Seattle visited the Gyeongnam Pavilion
booth to support entrepreneurs. She also organized a private luncheon to
discuss their business situation and difficulties.
"Thanks to the assistance of Gyeongnam TP,
we were able to arrange the B2B meetings we had hoped for, and we anticipate
that YoungPoong will become a collaborative partner with our key
customers," stated Ryu Yun-jung, Manager of YoungPoong Electronics, who
attended the event.
